Well, a few years ago the upstart House of Elrick Gin appeared on that show and they were offered more than US $110,000 for a 10% share of the company… and founder \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStuart Ingram\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e ultimately turned it down. They have proceeded with self-funding and crowd-sourcing to get where they are today — an Aberdeen-based Spirits company with a \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eselection of fine\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ehand-crafted Gins\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e and an entrepreneurial Spirit. \u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHouse of Elrick Gin\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e is decidedly floral in character. They keep their sources as a \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003etrade secret\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, but we know that they get their water from Loch Ness. And we also now of a Distillery or two in the area (e.g., Diageo’s Glen Ord) and known to contract out some work here and there. And the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003efloral character\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e reminds us of malted barley-based Spirits too. But both of those are guesses.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\nWe also know that their botanicals include juniper (of course) along with heather, rose petals, sweet fennel, angelica, coriander, and some citrus. This \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ewonderfully tasty Gin\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e is bottled at an odd but appreciated \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e42% \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003eABV in a lovely black glass decanter. The base is their signature Himbrimi Gin infused with juniper, wild Arctic thyme, angelica seeds, and lemon zest before being lightly sweetened with \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ehoney\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e. Since the infusions are infused rather than distilled, you may see small bits of sediment in the bottle — this is perfectly normal and \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eevidence of the hand-crafted nature of the Spirit\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e.
