Starting the production of the third most-consumed Spirit in the world demands a fresh approach, so Leblon decided for a \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ecool twist\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, aging the Spirit in \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eXO Cognac casks\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLeblon Cachaça \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003eis made from freshly cut and squeezed sugar cane grown at an altitude of \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e1,000 \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003emeters, whose juice is then distilled in an alembic copper pot still. \u003cbr\u003e\r\n\t\t \u003cbr\u003e\r\n\t\r\n\t\tBefore it's bottled, the Spirit spends up to \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003esix months\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e in 400-liter ex-Cognac casks. \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGilles Merlet\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, the Master Distiller of Maison Leblon, uses all the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003esecret tricks\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e he learned when he produced wine in his home country, France. 4 to 8 different casks are blended together in the end, depending on their features.
